Notes: |
Hail was not falling at a very fast rate, though the vast majority of them were ping-pong size.
Hail started as clear ice & shifted to white. Initially was soft & the larger stones shattered on impact. By the time the size began exceeding ping-pong size most all the stones were hard (hard enough to draw blood!) Very little rain received while the hail was failing, just a light sprinkle. Rain continued as a light drizzel for approx 30-minutes after the hail stopped.
1/2-mile to north received several inches of hail. At our location the ground was covered though all were melted by the time the rain stopped.
No broken windows at the house though some of the window screens have long rips in them from the stones hitting against them. |
