Short time period of hail and it melted fast before I could measure, take photographs, etc. I don't have a hail pad but never seen hail here much larger than pea size but this was a bit larger as described above. There was no overlapping accumulation and dispersal was sparse. The storm is not over but the hail seems to have stopped for now. The hail began about 10 minuets after the rain started. Across the valley, about a mile, I can see the mountain side is solid white so they received significantly more hail than I did on this spot. The rain measured 0.45 inches. |
